It’s official, the film Demon Slayer – Infinity Train will soon land at the cinema in France. The news was confirmed this week, following recent government announcements regarding the possible deconfinement to come is the May 19 next that this project signed ufotable should be available in all CGR theaters, as well as at the Grand Rex in Paris.
A must-see movie
A very important broadcast, as this film is absolutely essential for all fans of the anime, broadcast since 2019 in Japan (and on Wakanim in France). The reason ? Unlike many animated films from the genre (we think in particular of those of One piece or Dragon ball z), The Infinity Train is by no means a filler. In other words, his story is not irrelevant to the work of Koyoharu Gotōge.
On the contrary, where season 1 of the anime ended in September 2019 and season 2 is expected in 2021, this first foray into cinema truly serves as a transition. Thus, the story staged in this film is quite simply taken from the arc “Train of the Infinity”, which extends from volumes 7 to 8 of the manga. Therefore, if you are not going to read the paper version, it is logically imperative to see this project at the risk of being slightly dumped when the classic anime resumes.
On this subject, for those who wonder about the plot of this film, know that the story resumes directly after the rehabilitation of the young heroes. We follow them aboard the famous Infinity Train, in which Tanjirō, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke must meet Kyōjurō Rengoku (the Pillar of the Flame) in order to help him defeat a terrible demon. A classic story in appearance, which will nevertheless have real repercussions on the continuation …
A historic project
Finally, there is another very special reason to discover this film in theaters when it comes out: that of participating in our own way in the history of this project. And for good reason, Demon Slayer – Infinity Train is not just any movie. Since its theatrical release on October 16, 2020 in Japan, this one connects all the records.
In just a few short months, it not only became the highest-grossing film in Japan, but it also holds the title of “Highest Grossing Japanese Animated Film in the World”. Just that. It must be said that the work carried out by the Ufotable team is incredible and perfectly pays tribute to that of Koyoharu Gotōge. It is not for nothing that The Infinity Train was proposed (but not retained) at the Oscars 2021 and won various prestigious awards.
