Straight out of UK studio Locksmith animation, Ron Unlock is revealed in a refreshing first trailer, full of originality and humor.

Do you ever wonder about the future of technology and the gradual arrival of intelligent robots? So discover without further delay the first images of Ron Unlock, expected at the cinema this fall. First theatrical feature from Locksmith studio – released under the 20th Century Studios label – the animated film follows the bizarre relationship between a college student and a defective robot. What lead to a series of adventures all more crazy and absurd than each other.

The story of a friendship 2.0.

Anchored in the near future where technology has completely invaded the planet, Ron Unlock tells of a world where B-Bot, connected and high-performance robots have replaced part of humans. Thanks to them, you no longer need to make friends at school. These little wonders are actually designed and programmed to become your best friends!

The film then focuses on Barney, a schoolboy who receives one of these devices as a gift. This apparently perfect gift quickly turns out to be defective. Embarrassed by dysfunctions of all kinds, his B-Bot will nevertheless become a faithful companion that he will not let down. A beautiful ode to friendship, which will propel the two friends on completely wacky and crazy adventures, with a lot of humor and just as much love.

Realized by Jean-Philippe Vine (Cars 3, The Journey of Arlo), Sarah Smith and Octavio Rodiguez, the film has a colorful cast. The original dubbing will thus be provided by Zach Galifianakis (Hangover), Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam!), Olivia Colman (The Crown), Ed Helms (Hangover), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2) or Marcus Scribner (Black-ish).

Expected for the All Saints holidays, Ron Débloque will be released in theaters on October 20, 2021.
