After playing together for 8 years in The Vampire Diaries, Paul wesley and Ian somerhalder have decided to join forces: the two actors launched their brand of bourbon, Brother’s Bond (to be consumed in moderation of course) which will be available on May 1st in the US. While discussing this new project, the two stars could not escape a question about a potential return of The Vampire Diaries.

Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder are not keen on a comeback of The Vampire Diaries

Bad news, the two actors are not super excited to bring back the cult series. We can even say that they are totally against it. “It was a great time in my life and I am very grateful but for me each has chapters and is one. This is a new chapter. I don’t wanna ruin what we’ve already created“confided Paul Welsey whose the character would die in the finale.

As for Ian Somerhalder who has already denied the rumors of a season 9 ? “I have said this often because I have talked about this with many people and I always think: ‘What could that be like?’. Honestly i can’t imagine that (bring back the series, editor’s note) “confided the husband of Nikki reed. In short, a return from The Vampire Diaries is not on the agenda. At least not in the form of a sequel with the return of the actors … Fortunately, we still have The Originals spin-off Legacies. Season 3 is currently airing in the United States.
